Enabling MFA On Your Root AWS Account
- Login to your AWS console > aws.amazon.com, with mail and password which used during the sign up process
- Now with the help of “Services” menu or dashboard search bar look for “IAM”
- From IAM dashboard select “Activate MFA on your root account” > “Manage MFA”
- Click on “Multi-factor authentication (MFA)” > Activate MFA > “Continue to Security Credentials”
- Now need to select Virtual MFA device, you would need to download Google Authenticator on your mobile device from Android playstore or Apple App Store
- Next click on show QR code > Now from Google Authenticator you need to scan the QR code
- After scan on QR code by Google Authenticator will a random number displayed on your screen > type that first sequence in MFA Code 1 > Wait for second you will another code put that in MFA Code 2 > click on Assign MFA
- Now logout of your AWS console and try to log by in, you would asked for MFA code from Google Authenticator
